Ha, yeah, me too, but I don't miss it. It was probably the heaviest, noodle of a frame I've ever ridden. I couldn't care less who rode it before me. I bought if from a old dude in SE Portland for $50.

They're already drilled in the center, I don't see why they wouldn't work. People are spending $80 plus on elastomers, these seem like a great option. If they're too large in diameter, they'll be easily ground down with a bench grinder.

Re: The seatpost is a 26.8. They're a bit difficult to find. I had to get one for my DeBernardi, and the only one I could find locally was already in in my 93 Stumpjumper.

Re: Sometimes push button shifters get gummed up inside so they don't really like to fall into place. Try spraying it out with WD-40 or degreaser. I was having issues with a XTR front shifter, and that solved it.

I love those late 80's Hardrocks. They always bring back memories of riding around my hometown on a warm summer evening, probably on the way to some crazy party, or to catch a band playing somewhere. Good times.
