Speak to Mark at MRCreations via face book he could paint it all, main frame and paint the decals on. Only stickers youd have to put on them is the 531 ones. Hes not expensive either.

I think you have been lucky, on mine where this happened the gold plate came off. When the laquer broke and the rust was removed it left the chrome finish no gold. I'd worry that if you tried to remove the laquer that you'd lose all the gold and be left with a chrome frame. Personally I'm...

Re: Thanks guys It was a race style frame I was after so mud guard eyes would have made it a no no I'm afraid. With the record one not to worry understand and have managed to source one. Always looking for these frames for projects and rebuilds so if anything comes up let me know.

Looking at the rear stay caps and the lugs it looks like a Colombo frame in the "Ferrari Red" scheme they offered. Looking at the old Concorde catalogue you could have any frame in a choice of paint schemes. I'll try and get some images

Re: Re: Maybe not, but I could tell the difference in the day light, I seriously found that with modern chains it would change perfect either up or down but not both. Put an old chain on and it worked straight away. As I've said just my experience

Re: Not a case of trying to muddy the waters I was giving my experience and opinion which is ..... that when I have used a new current chain the shifting was ok. When I used an original Shimano chain it was perfect. Each to their own I guess.

I've got a couple of set ups, 6400 ultegra and 7400 dura ace. In both cases I have found it works ok with a new chain but perfectly with a period groupset matching chain. Pauk
