Help with identifying this 26" steel frame

that sounds quite heavy, are you sure it's just the frame and Headset (~100g) or includes also fork or seat post?

sure, I would also struggle to find a proper bike to mount this, although I do have a more than a dozen classic bikes. But I'm sure I have seen nice bikes here at Retrobikes with that Zeroweld stem. While searching I found this curiosity...

Machine Tech Zeroweld stem https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/machine-tech.5266/ not odd, but "Agressive, radical & innovative" as mentioned in your Ad ;) and that's why we love such things

Help with identifying this 26" steel frame

Hi, to me this looks like a nickel plated CroMo frame. Those bikes with nickel plated or sometimes also called "titanized" finish had been offered from many brands, often Ritchey tubing or at least pieces like drop-outs have been used. Typical suspects offering nickel plated models have been...

no need to worry, this is not a junkyard, it was just a picture to illustrate a suspension fork test in a Spanish bike mag from 1993, I'm sure they haven't left the forks, hot shit at this time, for more than just a few pictures in that scenery.

    Trek? Early rockshox? Mavic’s?

cheap, mid-nineties, Mavic 238 for instance had a similar profile (in the pic at the right side at the bottom) but hubs are clearly already from early nineties.

    Trek? Early rockshox? Mavic’s?

i do see grey Tioga Psycho II tires, but not sure if those are still in good conditions. The Rims seem to be indeed Mavic, but from a later year as the bike. The rest, not sure. To me this is not a Rockshox RS1 or any other cool thing, maybe even a cheap Taiwanese fork? Not sure at all, but...

    Merida Dakar 960

SX has been often used to indicate models with suspension fork., SX = shox ;-) Please find below a picture of the 690SX from 1994 (sorry for the bad quality) Revoshift is the name of the nowadays and cheap twist shifter (gripshift copy) from Shimano. They are around maybe since 10years at...

In dire need of help identifying this bashguard!

Hi, before you invest some efforts, time and money (tools) into building something on your own, I would like to just comment that the bashguard used at the nice Cannondale picture above is not so special. Just search for a bash guard for a Trial bike. E.g. Onza has it Armstrong bash guard or...

    Nishiki Ariel (I think)

sure, just realized it's the one also included in the ebay pictures, and where you found the picture of the conquest 40 frame set, it's called "ninety one", for 1991. I've uploaded it now to the archive. As there is no "Redline" section yet in the new archive, but a a few more Redline brochures...

    Alpinestars Kross vs Xross

it's Xcross also on the decals of the bike. The main decal at the down-tube is just a bit misleading, but there is another MTN. Xross on the seattube in blue letters with a more clear font. There was a bike recently on sale here...

    Nishiki Ariel (I think)

this is an old thread, not sure if all users are still around. Just found your post also interesting because I do own a Redline Conquest 45 from 1991. Here are some pictures https://www.mtb-news.de/forum/t/der-elevated-chainstay-thread.269968/post-18379987 This 45 seems to be younger than the...
