Aha, good point but it did also have the stickers on the frame and would it really say "Dawes" "Handbuilt in England" just because the handlebars were? I don't think you "hand build" handlebars do you?

I have a Dawes Super Galaxy for either 1987 or 88, judging by the Shimano Mt60 groupset, Reynold 531 and Made In Britain stamped on bars but no serial number under the BB. Is this normal? John

I have an XT M573 short cage rear mech which I believe is 7 speed and it says max limit is a 28 tooth cog. Is it possible to run this in an 8 speed set up with a 30 tooth cog or is this pushing it to far? TIA John
