Ive found the best way to split a freewheel like this is to put it on some really solid wood such as a plank you can stand on and screw a good few screws into the wood, inbetween the teeth on the biggest cog, so it can’t move. You can then tap the lockring or cog round to undo it.

Love seeing clean seatstays due to BB mounted ubrakes. Proper old school.

Great looking bike. If that's an old screw on freewheel you can take the cogs off and space the one you want inline for a good chain line. Cleans up the back nicely :)

This might be controversial. but I'd replace it with a rigid fork. Project 2 perhaps?

Ok Dth 2.1s are on. Still a bit browner than ideal but look good. Only 2.1s but having a bit of a faff getting the front canti blocks to clear the sweep on the tyre sidewalls.

Shape looks ideal for it, especially the straight forks 😁

I think the slightly less loved oddities like these (no offence intended) can often end up being the most interesting and original survivors. Sort of a "Festival of the unexceptional" but for bikes.
