Running Ardents on 19mm rims they are just a little narrower than Hans Dampfs without the side knobs (with a lot less drag).

I've just looked at my Conti Race Kings with Protection finish and was surprised at the damage to the carcas with the white protective inner clearly showing in several places, but absolutely no punctures. They have great grip and low rolling resistance but I would recommend them for race day...

Had one of these in 2002 or 2003 in exactly that colourway complete with the same forks and seat pin. Nothing stamped on the headtube though. Edit: The seat pin was a problem for me because of its shape I couldn't lower it enough, also when it was held up to the sun it was see through.:oops...

The "multi spanners" came free with every Raleigh, I collected a few as they came with the my sons Burners and BMX' plus my daughters and wifes bikes too. I gave a couple away on here some years back. I bought a non curly Hetchins from the Southend shop in 1982, no spanner though. ;)

I'd just moved to a new area, (new job, new mortgage) so bought one of these from Mrs Shedobits catalogue and together with an Ordnance Survey map and a British Army Mk 4 compass discovered a whole new area (and hobby) by MTB. As the bug bit I upgraded and finally replaced it with a Scott USA...
