Genuine Giant Once team bike????

GiantTCROnce

Retro Newbie
I have recently got this off my father in law as he doesn’t use it any more, does anyone know what year this is?
I’m also wondering if this bike is a genuine Once team bike as it has the stamped logo in the head tube and the rare seat post, forks ect.
Any information would be greatly received

100% not a team bike I’m afraid. Giant made, and continue to make, thousands of TCRs and this is one of the mass produced replicas.

TCR stands for Total Compact Road and was a big change in frame design in the mid to late 90s with the sloping top tube being the most noticeable. The aero seatpost is another signature of the frame designer Mike Burrows. They are nice frames and your one looks to be in good condition. They’re just not rare or valuable I’m afraid. Here’s mine…

Had one of these in 2002 or 2003 in exactly that colourway complete with the same forks and seat pin. Nothing stamped on the headtube though.
Edit: The seat pin was a problem for me because of its shape I couldn't lower it enough, also when it was held up to the sun it was see through.
With full Dura Ace it accelerated, climbed and descended just great.
