The rear wheel rim and hub were broken and had to be replaced. It turned out that the chain was slipping because of the hub. Most likely the star ratchets in the Hügi needed replacement and the hub needed a service. Unfortunately, I had the german version of the hub prior to DT Swiss stepping in...

S Sorry, this stem is no longer available. The cable hanger was removed and the stem is used in my rebuild project.

I guess Marzocchis are kind of controversial at retrobike anyway. Hopefully it will live up to the expectations regarding performance. It definitely looks better to me than the RockShox Judy that preceded it on that bike. Maybe some of the decals will go later on.

Good point. 15 degrees Syncros stems for 1“ steerer tubes are so rare that I thought I take it with that hanger and get rid of it later 😖

Well hello! This thread is coming back to life now. After a longer search for components and a few months of hibernation this is what we're at. The Bomber fork has been fitted, a seat post been purchased and a stem has been found to replace the old 0 degree version. Sadly it has the cable guide...

Looking for the quill version of a 90's Syncros stem for 1" shafts (not 1 1/8" or 1/4") with 15 degree incline.

Finished my first Bomber rebuild (and learned a lot). Disassembling and removing the old fork oil from the Z2. Oil seals were leaking, oil levels were criminally low. Turned out that pilot bushings (the two cylinders with holes in them - I think holes are Z2 specific) are in great shape. I...

A quick update... The 1 1/8" steerer tube has been removed and the Z2 crown has been fitted with a 1" steerer tube and an aluminium shim. Marzocchi didn't provide 1" alloy steerer tubes (stability) so the new tube is Cr-Mo. Next up is rebuilding the Z2! Head set and bottom bracket both...

How noisy is the rear hub? May sound silly but I am looking to replace a HÜGI on a Merlin (which seems to amplify the noise) because it‘s just too loud. Was looking at a Chris King which makes a siren like („angry bee“) sound. Not sure I want that either 😅
