Zocchi Super Fly Z2's compared to Pace Pro Class RC36?

Quite tempted by the bling 'Eddie Irvine' RC36's currently on Ebay (though I guess they're going to go for silly money perhaps!), they'd be for my Bow Ti which is currently running a set of Super Fly Z2 Bombers. Wondering how the RC36's would compare to the Z2's?

I know they'll give me a bit more travel, plus they'll be coil, if that makes a difference? And they look uber cool of course!

What do the good folk of retrobike think, would the RC36's be a worthy upgrade/change or much of a much-ness?

Cheers for your thoughts :)

I can't comment on the RC36s, but I did experiment with forks on my Dekerf earlier this year; I tried '99 Superflys and RC38 Hollowform 63mm travel Pace from 2004. Despite being 5 years older, the Marzocchis were lighter, tracked better, were better damped, less fiddly to set up, etc, etc ...

RC38's were never the best though.

I cant offer a comparison, but do have a set of eddie irvines available if you go that route.

lf you do get rid of the super flys l could be interested depending on steerer length, colour and price?

Cheers

I'm your man for this.

I have S-Flys on my Parkpre and RC36 Pro Class on my Dave Yates.

S-Flys are much more tunable, stiffer, stronger, better seals. Big pain in the rear to adjust rebound and add/remove pressure. Also v. important to use the right weight oil for your riding style.
RC36s are more plush, easier to keep running, lighter and way way better looking.

I love em both. But if I had to choose one, and leave my Pace addiction out of it, then I'd go for the Zocchis.

Can you easily get spares for the RC36 forks like you can the S-Fly forks ?

Bit of a novice question this, but what is the difference between supperfly and bombers, or are they just different names for the same thing.
