Hi chaps,

Right. Gone all choppery in the mind and want to get a 100mm fork to try, first on my 98 Rockhopper and then maybe on other, meant to be 80mm frames...

Fancy an airfork really, as lightness is required.

Cost no factor, just the nicest, smoothest, lightest, reasonably stiff (I'm only 75kg) 100mm fork you've ridden. With V brake mounts!! :)

Hoping there are some fox 100mm air models with mounts on I have not found yet.......

Have at it please gents....

There's a choice with suspension forks? In my mind there is only one answer Pace, Pace, Pace, Pace, Pace, Pace, Pace!
Not only are they all awesome but they are all black and so go with any colour scheme!
I actually have some black and gold RC36's with v-brake mounts which are 100mm. I may be tempted to part with them, although I have never sold a pair, only bought them!

Modern sorry

But 09 SID's race are 80 / 100mm with bosses :

Lovely, thank you! You'll all have to excuse me here, as in this particular case I am most definitely up for modern......basically the most sweet 100mm ride with bosses. Seems the 09 SID Race is a good opener! :D

I can see this is going to cost me already.....lol

Any others?

Pace.....what that bloke up there said^^^^^^^^

Or there are some nice manitou air sprung forks on the market that have a great action ;)

Absolute etc.are a great looking and lightweight fork ;)

Got any pics?

I WAS originally after Pace RC36's, but then my mind took me to rational land and said "You want the smmmoooothest ride built", so me not having tried RC36's (a reason alone to get some I guess), could you really say they're up there with modern offerings?? Boy, are they much sexier to look at, but is the ride as good?

I have some rc36 pro class with gold nitride stanchions that were nos this year, and can tell you they are easily as good as a lot of modern forks, they are more active than my brothers 2006 fox "whatevers"

And the damping is very good and adjustable as well

Again, modern (sorry!)

Rockshox Reba (older ones have V mounts) a tad heavier (3.6-4.1lbs) than the Sid's (3-3.3lbs), but tougher, stiffer & probably cheaper. I paid ~£125 for mine from Singletrackworld forum.

85mm travel Reba on my '98 Clockwork

They are a highly tuneable fork with excellent damping, very highly recommended.

My friend beavis has some of these on his Marin Team Ti and they're about as good as you'll get. ;)

Pace RC39's were always available with canti's I think and they are also brilliant. :D
