Any ideas why a new '97 frame would be shipped with just Zaskar decals (no LE) ?

I think you have a frame from the 1998 catalog

but already produced in october 1997 (1097)

new models were already available from autumn

(here in Germany usually after the Eurobike exhibition in september)
