Firstly, apologies for the change of thread title, I've been doing some thinking about my build, and had it all planned but someone threw a spanner in the works and I may now be able to lay my hands on some XC pro stuff, so whilst the original thread still stands around getting ideas around frame/fork renovation and build ideas, I would like to throw into the mix, Suntour XC pro (MD).

My plan was to go M900 drive train, controltech cantis, Nuke Proof wheels, but now Suntour has crept into the mix, so what are peoples thoughts on this on a Yo Eddy?

I've not had a 7 speed set up for some time, so that would be different in itself, and I do have a couple of builds running M900 gears, so should I mix it up for a change, or would this not be in keeping with a You Eddy?

Original thread/content...........

Whilst I try to decide what to do with my yo eddy frame I picked up off here, I'm toying with the idea of using suspension as I have a few forks that would fit, but I'd also like to try rigid. I assume yo eddy forks are thin on the ground so was wondering how similar the orange forks were, and trying to get a set of these sprayed up.

Speaking of sprayed, at some point I may get the frame resprayed but I font know much about the colours the 92 frames came in, so does anyone have any ideas/inspiration on clouts for me?

Cheers

Ian

Try find a set of Tange Struts instead they are straight not curved

look more similar to Yo Eddy fork if thats what you after

Google mombat (museum of moutian bike art and technology) and go to history and then Fat Chance to find appropriate colors for a '92 Yo. Igleheart Custom Frames and Forks can build a replica of the original rigid fork for the '92 Yo.

I would post the links but I have not posted much on this board and it will not allow me to post links / URLs

An on-one cromo fork is visually very similar but I would assume your bike has a one inch steerer so that's tricky.

Paintwise I guess I got mine around 92 and it had a grello-purple fade. Nice, but grello and grello blue fade are nice and one of those would be my choice.

OK, I've updated the title/post a bit to reflect that I could consider XC Pro. Any thoughts on this?

Never liked Suntour gear bitd but must admit I've been toying with using some myself after seeing a few builds on here. If you can get some tidy stuff go for it!

Loving the XC Comp/Pro/Ltd kit that's now on my Pathfinder, the brakes are the best Cantis I have tried, the thumbies are better than XT and the finish is superb, OK shifting is not as good as HG but it isn't far off.

Carl.
