Hi guys I was wondering what size front mech I need for a 1990 yeti fro?

I could wait till the frame arrives but I would like to start looking for parts now
Am going to build using shimano m732 groupset
Would this group be suitable?
And what rims are period correct too?

Thanks Dave.

Thanks for the information Michael.
Seams I have the majority of the wrong group then.

I have,
Nos m730 seat q/r
Nos m732 thumb shifters
Nos m732 4 finger brake leavers
Nos m732 canti's (black colour)
Nos m732 rear mech
M732 threaded head set (black colour)
Also new decals and wondered about the correct head tube decal
As I have seen 2 different ones,
One with the 'yeti' riding the bike
The other him skidding,if you know what I mean.

Do I need to change all my kit so far for m735 now?

no, you dont have to change the whole group. only the m732 front and rear mech are for 1989. the headset should be a 1 1/4" (m737) the other parts are correct, take a look:
http://mombat.org/Shimano.htm#1990
but I also put the m732 mechs on my 1990 merlin, its ok
it gives 3 different yeti mans for the headtube. you need the 2nd gen decal and in the correct size.

do you must know if you will build up 100% period correct?

That's great, now I know what the correct yeti man is!
It's a 1990 frame the seller thinks but couldn't tell me the serial no as its just been powder coated black, but am going to change that to the correct yeti turquoise.
He told me the headset size is 1-1/4" and it has a manitou 1 fork with it and a white turbo seat too.
So I need different front & rear mech's then?

I know that if your building a early yeti then it's got to be correct!
Even down to the ftw stem.

Silverfish has a nice seatcollar if you still need one mate.

Cheers for letting me know sinnerman I will speak with him about that, because seat collar seam to be very elusive!

Thanks for adding the photo gives me a idea as to what I have let my self in for!
Must admit am excited about this build,it's going to give me a good deal more headaches than my gt rts1 build (the only one I have done from scratch!)
