Yeti Factory visit (2005)

Here in full size ;) I noticed the quick releases too.

That's it!

Note the drawings on the cardboard box ... and Grewal's frame among the mess in the "meeting room"

Sylvain,

looks like a great tour, some cool pics. How you manage to score that. Would be cool if you could upload them into the gallery....

I have to get around to doing a gallery yes, ok.

We met Bubba and Chris (I think?) at the retromeet in Afan in the summer, only got there for the last ride on the way back from SITS (Simon and Howard from Bromleybike already knew them very well), over a barbeque when I mentioned I was going to Moab via Colorado in the Autumn they offered to give a look around the factory if we had the time.

Bubba was such a cool guy. We did the visit on a Saturday (that's why it's empty in there) and he was about to go do a cyclocross race, but he took the time to show us around.

He did us some great deals on Yeti schwag like shorts, mugs, pint glasses, socks, jackets, Buffs ... even offered me a one-off cyclocross frame in my/his size for $750 I think, maybe I should have taken it ...

Grahame who is an engineering teacher was drooling at all the old machines in the factory :D

Wow. I went round their factory in 1995 - my pics are on Yeti Fan, I can't remember if I put them up here, too.

I was in Durango in my drive around the US and knocked on the door. They were awesome guys and so friendly. They told me a story of an Italian guy who came over on holiday for a week and spent it all there! They said "He was pretty cool, though. He didn't like our coffee machine so bought us a new one"

I came away with a great deal on a frame .... still ride it today

Is it just me, or did anyone else expect a little more in the lobby? Seems awfully plain in there. How about a trophy case or some more swag up on the walls? :)

they've added a lot more in 6 years
