Personally I think there are very few true 'museum bikes' out there, loads of wall-hangers and garage queens with a cliche history, but very few truly historical museum bikes.........

Give me Boardmans Lotus, Simpsons last bike, any of Coppi's or Merckx's or at a push Tomac's drop bar C26 - now they're historical.

I don't think you'd get any of those nowadays for £4k. Although if somebody offers me Tomacs C-26 I'll phone the bank.

I'll mail you directly pete :)

Have to agree that this isn't a museum piece. It's just something a Yeti enthusiast may like to own. It was a promotional tool and was not ridden by anyone of significance in the MTB world.

I don't even think it would achieve £1.5k in an open auction... my valuation is nearer half of that

juli furtados 1990 worlds winning C26 bike made $7800 a few yrs back on ebay. theres been some C26 framesets sell for considerably less than that.. kinda before most retro forums existed & the whole VRC price explosion tho ;)

cycleshark petes tomac above shouldnt be underestimated either, thats another from the Parker yard ;)

Indeed MCK. I'm struggling to see Yeti collectors and museums tripping over each other to get to this one, but perhaps once you've informed them a stampede with ensue ;)

Yep, the C-26 is a different kettle of fish.
