Yet another what would you do question thread - Zaskar vs. ?

Hey guys:

Back story is I'm building up an xc hardtail for riding with the kids. I have two frames - and 18 inch 96ish Zaskar and a 94 Norco Rampage (prestige ultralight). The Norco was bought to be a pub bike/work bike, but the frame was a size too small 18.5 inch rather than the 20 I should have got.

The groupset that came with it is amost pristine - bike was hardly ridden and the frame is in good conditon too. The Zaskar was my old pub bike/work bike. I picked up a 2000 vintage Rocky Hammer Race frame and swapped the work bike components onto it and its now serving ably as my crappy weather commuter. I've been rebuilding the Zaskar with the bits off the Rampage, but now I'm wondering if I should just clean up the Rampage frame, frame saver it and rebuild it with the addition of a suspension fork (it came with an aftermarket rigid) and maybe a riser bar and shorter stem? The slightly smaller size probably won't be a big deal if I'm using it for trail riding and it was a sweet riding frame. I could flog the Zaskar or keep it for another project. The Zaskar is an 18" frame as well so its on the smallish size for me and if I remember correctly the two frames have fairly similar dimensions.

So, before I start to rip the Zaskar apart what do you guys think?

IMHA, always go for a frame that fits, if your going on rides around the woods with the kids it could be a long day so a good fitting frame is the ticket. You don't want hurting knees/back/wrists while keeping the kids in check ;-)
