Yet another P2 question post

I bought a P2 fork "by accident" the other day and for what ever reason I thought it had a 165mm steerer but looking over the description it looks like when it turns up it's going to be 147mm.

I want to try it on a Marin frame I have as part of my current spring "experiment".

The Rockstar steerer is 153mm, is 6mm deficit going to be an issue?

I ask because there is another set available (longer) but they maybe gone before the other forks turn up and I don't want to miss out and delay the project if I don't have to!

You may be out of luck fitting those forks on there if the original forks have a longer steer tube.

I always try to buy forks a little long and trim them down if I need to.

threaded: 6mm is about the height of the headset locknut, so unless there are a couple of spacers in there you might struggle

threadless: shed some spacers and/or get a lower stack height stem and you'll be golden

They turned up today. I have a low profile Ritchey headset which may offer a few mm's but it's not looking good at the moment.

Will have to look at trade or getting yet another set!
