yet another Blizzard this spring

finally got another of these to replace the prev one i had quite a few years back. it's a 17.5" and hopefully not too small for me, as i was aiming for a 18.5", given the 19.5" was a tad too big.

this one has all the decals that it should unlike the prev, though some of it is a little tatty. and now i have nice complete matching white RF kit for it this time around (stem, headset and cranks). also original matching black Judy XC fork, which i swapped out the original black brace for red. i've got a nice RF "Ride Don't Slide" stem cap, and both a silver and NOS red RF bar with the same slogan to match. leaning towards silver bar, but still debating if i should mount the red.

i have a pair of RF XY seat posts, with red ano hardware to boot. but alas they are both too big in diameter as i need a 26.8mm for this and what i have are 27.0mm and 27.2mm.

and to round out the build, the drive train is 8spd XT. aside from finding the correct seatpost, all that's left are grips (black, white, red?), cables, chain and pedals.

took the advantage of the May 2-4 long w/e here in Canada. all but complete less the needed XY seatpost. the sub in Syncros will do till then.

haha, thx. i like to think that i did improved on the original stock build. don't get me wrong, the original catalogue spec is quite sweet, but i wasn't digging the original seatpost and i wanted to keep it all XT, though ppl will say it's wrong to have Vs in place of canti. i think the white RF kit balances out the look of the build better, though maybe the red RF headset might be nicer than the white. but then i'd be breaking up the set.

I would be tempted to put the red bars on or at least try them, and also i would try a white seatpost too

I have one of these frames but its too small for me, or anyone for that matter, apart from Adrian, but i got it off of him

Looks great! I think the black seatpost looks better than the stock Ritchey post too...maybe I'll have to change mine

I do like the white RaceFace parts, but the red is just more classic! I think yours will look even better once you get a more period correct Syncros or Raceface post. I've had the same issue with a couple of my builds lately, it's not easy to find a decent condition 26.8!
