XTR M950 chainset install.

I havent installed one of these in many years.Whats the procedure?Do I need a special tool to remove the little crank caps before I install?Anything else I should be aware of?

Make sure you line the splines up carefully. The amount of broken XTR chainset I’ve seen where they’ve just been dogged up. Remove the caps first so you can see. I use a pair of lock ring pliers usually.

Yeah,Im terrified of ruining the splines,how do I know when the chainset is fully home?

Once the self extracting cap is out it’s easy to see and also feel.
