XTR m950 bar end shifter

I just picked up a NOS one for a tenner.A bit of a short lived gimmick and a curiosity but I always wanted to give one a go,any tips on set up?

I ran one on a build for a while. Found it pretty useful. Still have it and a spare one.

You need a compatible shifter of course, xt or xtr I think we're the only ones with the blanked out screw holes for the bolt on bits you should have in your pack.

I sold a set of XTR shifters in the summer that were compatible with the remote shifters - they were SL-M951, here’s some pics.

I've run with m952 shifters. I think m951 and xt m750 were also compatible, not sure if any others were.
