I have a lovely set of silver ceramic matrix rims that would suit these nicely. Was my plan but as I mentioned, no longer have a suitable frame. If of interest let me know and I'll dig them out.

They probably were expensive bitd, but I would not make them expensive. I'll dig them out and send you some pics. They are very lightly used so in decent condition. Iirc very little wear at all to brake surfaces.

I'll grab some pics tomorrow.

Not a silly question. Answer is yes. Take rings are newer and will run 9 speed, as well as 8 if you desire.
