XT 1-1/4 THREADED HEADSET. Please help my Yeti!

Hi guys!

I bought a brand new xt headset on ebay, but it came without the metal ring that holds the "ball-bearing"... Anyone know where i can get this part?

If it's the cage that the ball bearings fit in, then just forget about it, you don't need it. Stick them in loose with some grease.

Huh? Am i doing something wrong? I tried that, but it don't function at all.

Do you mean the lower crown race, a solid metal ring that fits on the forks?

The 1 1/4" headset comes with loose balls rather than a caged bearing, it should show this on the instructions in the exploded view.

Could you take a picture of the exploded view and show us which part is missing and we should be able to help out.

I guess it's the "caged-bearing" I'm talking about. The metal ring/cage that holds the "balls"

NOT the lower metal ring that is fitted to the fork!

I could easely explain it in Norwegian, but i don't think i would get any respond in here.

So the bearings are supposed to be loose?

You explained it fine, yes they are loose. It's the HP-M737 as in the diagram above.
