XCR-4000 question

Happy to be the new owner of an old bike. '99 GT XCR-4000. ($100) I noticed the bottom bracket moved far more than I expected an i-drive to move. Upon inspection the screw that stabilizes the bottom bracket and connects to the main frame is missing. Is this called the "dog bone"? Where can I source the replacement screws? It seems this is a 6mm bolt with a bushing. Any help for a total noob would be wonderful.

I grabbed a M5 x 30 and it worked, but I would be more comfortable with a little more thread contact. I am ordering some titanium M5 x 35 from the bay. They are rumored to last longer in this application.
