lol no superior knowledge i just googled fatboy mx and noticed it was 4130 with a hi-tensile rear end not alloy like the rest of the line up

going by the museum it seems they only made the fatboy hemi in 1998 to 2000

the serial number may give u the exact year

Well its says comp on the seat stays which would lead me to believe yours is aluminium, the welds should give it away really. Looking at the great link Kev gave yours is the MOR of the range, but I'd steer really clear of the MX ones I nealry fell foul of what I thought was a bargain one and it turned out to be really heavy and cro mo
