Wtd: Suntour stem

Dirt Disciple
I'm looking for a Suntour stem. I've got a Bridgestone RB-1 with full Superbe Pro groupset and it's got some shocking Deda bars and stem on it at the moment. I need to put something appropriate on there and ideally a Suntour stem to go with the rest of the groupset would be nice. Cheers.

Indeed there is. It looks similar to a Cinelli 1A but has a groove on each side of the stem and a cutout on the front of the clamp.

One cropped up on eBay a few weeks ago that I missed this:

SR Royal ESL Stem

You can also buy an SR Royal ESL (Extra Super Light) Stem. It's the same thing, although it will say "SR" rather than "Suntour" (That's ok the company today is called, "SR/Suntour"), you can find the pictures on equusbicycle website (I cannot post the URL here, sorry) in the catalog section for Sakae.

I think that there is an ebay seller in Lompas CA, Cafe De Velo, with a shipping container of these ultralight stems. They are not for violent track sprinting, they are hollow and drilled and for people who really yank on the bars, they can break.

The SR ESL model came with titanium hardware but the suntour model might have had steel hardware (I don't know for certain about the suntour model.)
