WTD - 36 hole rear hub for 8 speed cassette

Building a new MTB rear wheel. I have a Mavic X517, rim brake, 36 hole rim on the way and now after a decent and preferably retro hub. 8 speed shimano cassette. Front is currently a purple Hope. If I need to cut up an existing old wheel to get a decent one I don't mind. Must have good bearings.
