Thanks Tangent, but it's a bummer that I don't have all the parts I'd need to build it. I'm looking for an original spec-ish Trekker and only have 1/2 of what I'd need. Great history though and I love the pictures of you and the bike!

No worries, more than happy to help out with most of the other (original) parts etc.

Glad you like the image! when there is personal history attached to the bike , kind tricky to put
£ price on it...we rode them 1988 - 1992 (upgrading to Specialized ) I carried on using this one as student mtb - commuter during 1990s).

I bought an 88 Trekker as a project and it's coming along nicely.
It came with a chainset which I didn't use, along with the brake levers. Whether they're original equipment i'm unsure but they look as if they are.
