Of course you will need 140mm hubs than. WTB did their own hubs. Very nice ones, with grease guard :)

They came up with the 140 idea, as cassettes grew wider and wider, resulting in wheels with more dish. With 140 a stronger wheel.

are 140mm hubs a must...I've read that 135mm will work fine, but that could be wrong.
 
It is from when 8s was introduced. 8s used same spacing as 7s, so spokes moved inward on drive side, resulting in a less strong wheel. With 140mm width they intentended to undo that.

Yes, I see that was the intention, but since it didn't catch on, they are scarce...any idea where to find a 140mm rear hub?

oh, and so, a 135mm can be used if a 140 can't be sourced, right?
 
i have a spare new CK end cap if you need one. discount RB price of course. my rear spacing was 137mm....so i ended up using a 135mm hub.
