Thanks for having a go at explaining it to me Dom.. i'm not really down with the ostentatious car vibe either, i drive an old 240 wagon i agree there are some enviable skills in making swanky watches, but it's the skills i admire rather than folks ability to splurge £££'s,
anywho...my contribution, i haven't taken this off since 1996, it's never lost time but hey.. i don't need to be anywhere.. at least not to the nearest second.

The crazy thing is that most people would recognise your Tag as being a posh watch. Show them a Patek, AP or a Richard Mille and they probably would think a Tag is more expensive.
Watch nerds don’t tend to be the sort to approach people and point out their watch so you’d probably never even know if it’s noticed as general public don’t care and watch people are shy usually. I’ve had one person notice a watch I was wearing in 5 years of owning it.
If you like engineering and craftsman ship watch a few videos of high end watches being built, serviced or repaired. It’s really mind blowing stuff but certainly not worth the prices they charge for the actual watches.
