Right guys had a look at this tonight, the ritchey middle compact ring is 3mm in total thickness and I have compared this against a TA middle compact ring which is 5mm total thickness,... however the teeth thickness on both these rings are 2mm ..
When I fitted the TA ring onto the spider of the cranks, the spacing between the middle and granny seemed to be more even, so I think the answer is in the ritchey middle ring..
As I want to use the ritchey ring, I am hoping to be able to purchase some 1mm thick or even 0.5mm thickness spacers to go round the chainset bolts.
Thanks for your help, and I'll have a look at Billys as suggested..
Much appreciated
