Wow. Just f**ing unbelievable. 1995 TET Kona Hot

Suntour XC Pro shifters are designed to work with the Suntour XC Pro cassette, which didn't have consistent spacing between the sprockets (whereas a Shimano one does), so the indexing won't work properly. IIRC the smallest three sprockets were one distance apart from each other, the next two were another and the biggest two another still. But that's from memory - my early 90s copy of Sutherlands is elsewhere at the moment.

In short, Suntour shifters are IMO the nicest thumbies ever made, but they only work properly with Suntour cassettes!

They work just fine with Shimano blocks, even in clicky mode, after 15 years hard graft.

Agree...never had a problem Suntour Shifters and Shimano cassettes

x3

but his post seemed really technical; I'm more of a trial and error, anecdotal type :p

This appears to be the same bike, with cables too funnily enough, photo dated March 2009.

Extremely nice example though, nit picking aside.

Anthony, are you sure it's the same bike? Are the serial numbers the same? There are some differenced in the build besides the missing cables. Just wondering what anyone knows. Only 49 minutes left till the end of the auction.
