Crazy thing is that’s I’ve got one fitted to another bike which has never been ridden. It’s immaculate. And the rarer chubby size too.

But now I need another one for this next build.

I got it from CRC in about 2005 for £10 ! Wish I’d got more

On a downhill bike with riser bars these stems will rarely suffer direct impact damage and being so short they also have more protection. Regardless of condition, I think knackered threads are always a risk with these.

People seem to think if it's been kicking about in a parts bin for 20 years with no packaging, it's still NOS. Whether the wear came from being fitted to a bike or having a crankset rubbing on it, it's still marked and therefore used.

You'd have to pay me extra to rub my crank on it.

Some people are just ripping the piss out it though with the over the top pricing. 85 plus has the cheek to ask postage for what looks like a used stem.
