I'm looking to buy a workstand and I like the park pcs-10 but it's a big chunk of money and so I wondered if the cheaper stands were any good? I saw this on ebay and it looks OK in the photo but if anyone has any experience with it I would appreciate the feedback.

I think this is the type with the "toothed" rotation arm? Anyway my brother has a similar style one and it has become loose in a bit which you can't tighten up.
I got a Park PCS 9 in the half price new year sale at Go Outdoors for £50 and it's amazing. I think you can get one for about £85 on the net and the quality is much better. As it's at the bottom of the Park range it's a bit awkward to fold up and doesn't go very small, it also doesnt have a QR clamp. The clamp it does have holds my 32lb Pitch at crazy angles no problem and the three legs are perfect on my dodgy cellar floor.

Sometime Park stuff is overpriced but in this case I think they are a good buy.

I have one of these and it does the job perfectly! Folds up neatly too for storage.

+1

I got one of these early last year and never had any problems with it.

If you can, go for the Park PCS-10. It seems like a lot of cash, but it truly is an investment - just divide it by the amount of saved hours/parts and the years usage you'll get out of it.

I've got the edinburghbicycle version of the one in the opening post. There's lots of them sold under different names. Not as good as the Park, but perfectly usuable

Workshop work stand.

I've got one very similar and find it great, the ability to rotate the head/clamp is really useful :D.
For moderate use I think it should be fine, but if you're going to be using one alot more like a shop then perhaps a Park or similar professional stand would be a better buy?
