'95 Cinder Cone kitted out with a mixture of XT parts, mainly M730 but with 737 cantis and headset.
Club Roost GoFast bars, barends and grips. Stem is inexplicably a Marin Lite, fork is RS Quadra 21R.
Currently running a rubbish gel seat because it's all I have spare and Spoons really don't agree with my lower back.

Re:

Hi. Nice pair of Cinder Cones, compliment each other well. Here's mine. It's a '92 CC, with mostly M510 Deore on, 1x8 transmission with an odd STX shifter I've had for ages. The box crown forks were trials forks originally, but they're the correct length to keep the handling right.

I've had it on and off since some time in '93, got it as a frame only. Sold it about 10 years ago, managed to get it back a few years later. It's a keeper now.

It was rattle can lime green for around a decade, and I quite fancied restoring it properly(hence the red), but really needed a reliable bike for work, so i set about raiding my parts bin. Got a set of cheap Kona stickers off eBay, stuck them on in a modern bike kind of way. Added plenty of reflective stickers to help it stand out when riding in the dark. My commute isn't far, a few miles across town, so my Cateye usb lights are effective enough.

It's as good to ride as it always was. Before i learned to drive, i used it to get around. Flat bars and skinny slicks, just the job. Often when i ride it now, it feels exactly the same as it did in the early to mid 90s, even though every single component is different. For me, it shows the value of a decent bike frame.

Regards

Marge

Re:

mine is a yeti fro alloy with troy lee design frame but lots of modern stuff on it as its used for 20 mile commute to work. Frame is the heart of the bike one day it will be made totally retro but for now it is doing long hauls and trail centres and rides to work all be it with slicks on it. no idea why image has come out upside down lol
