Yeah me neither. Decent wood glue can be stronger than the wood itself, so they’re possibly repairable (?)

I wouldn't know. There are a few threads on here from an American who had new wooden rims made, even with alloy rims inserts to make them practical. I think it is in this thread:

"stronger than the wood itself" - an oft used ad byline. Can it be true - it's PVA we're talking about. I wouldn't trust it on a rim - subject to many huge and various stresses.

Hmm you might be right. Depends on how weak/decrepit the wood is I guess
My experience is limited to furniture where it’s been surprisingly strong and durable (can’t remember type/brand).
