Will my frame take 27.5/650b wheels?

Re:

Without moving the drop outs, I spotted in some 27.5 wheels wearing some 2.0 tyres. The results pictured below.

Looks like things will be fine. I've got some 2.35 tyres to fit, how much extra meat will they have, and will I be able to get away with fitting them without moving the drop outs, or should I move them rearward for some extra clearance?

Looking good. The clearance with the bigger tyres wont make a lot of difference but I like a short rear end on mine so might be worth a ride before you decide on final placement. Did you decide on a wheelset?

Re:

Jury is still out on the wheelset. The fulcrums will match the build colour wise with red decals on the rims, crossmax will not look out of place either being black with white decals. Part of me is considering going decalless, removing as many logos as possible, so it's not clear what the bike or parts are (might help make it less desirable to thieves?), but undecided and it feels wrong to remove perfectly good decals, well a little....

Re:

Looks fine to me. How about the front?

I've just tried a 27.5 wheel in a 26" wheel frame, fitted quite easily.

Even got a 27.5 x 2.1 tyre into the Pace RC36 forks, only a gnats whisker of clearance between tyre and brake arch though

Re:

Fork wise I'll be converting a Reba 26er to 27.5, swapping out the lowers and possibly internals (though I think if I left the internals alone I'd have a 100mm fork which will be fine.

I've not tried the wheels in a 26er fork, but even if it fits, there are issues with the tyre being able to hit the crown, which I don't fancy happening.

I've had it happen to me, I now appreciate life a great deal more

Bzzzz Bzzzzzzz Thunk! Arrrggghh!!!!!!!

Re:

That was due to saggy retro elastomers and a badly designed retro suspension fork.

Not due to 27.5 wheels on a 26" fork.

So you'll be fine.

Honest. ;)
