Will a 29.4 seatpost rattle in a 29.5 frame?

Got a Marin Eldridge and the original post is 29.5. has anyone ever replaced it and used a 29.4 instead?

I don't think I've seen or heard of a 29.5 post before. Are you sure that's right? 29.4 was a less common size, used on fats, pace to name a couple.

I doubt it.

I put a 30.9mm post on a 31.0 pinarello. Works perfectly.
All you need is to go and buy yourself some pre-sliced quality jamon serrano at the local supermarket.
Then you use the little plastic food separaters as a kind of do-it-yourself shim, wrap that round the post.
Aluminium cans and such will be too thick.

1994 Muddy Fox Rock 'n' Roll Cr-Mo is also 29.4

Its all true. 1992 bolinas ridge is 26.5mm bmx style seat fitment.

Go for 29.4mm as the milling/forging may be over at 29.4666666. Sort of thing.

It's definitely a 29.5. Stamped on the original seatpost clear as day. Will give a 29.4 a go.

I ran a 29.9 Syncros in a 30.0 frame no problems.

0.1 mm is nothing, especially in steel frame. For 0.2 mm use a beer can shim.
