This is an exceptional Wilier Triestina Super Leggera Ramata road bicycle. It is in beautiful original condition with its original copper cromovelato finish. The bike is from ~1987. The copper lacquer over the fully chromed frame really shines. It is a stunning bike. The bike has been in dry storage for some time. I have cleaned the drivetrain and detailed the frame and parts. The bike has a lovely patina that adds to the overall character. Its few flaws do not detract from the overall quality and value of the bike.
It gets tons of attention and is a great conversation starter. It would really blow some minds at the next Eroica event and, in my mind, is a collection-quality bike.

The frame has Wilier pantographing on the upper seat stays and the head tube. A Wilier headbadge adorns the head tube. A Columbus decal is present on the down tube as well as the fork legs.
The seat tube decal reads:
"Azienda Premiata, Modello 1984 Speciale, Con Medaglia D'Oro"
The non-drive side chainstay decal reads:
"Vincitrice Gran Fondo d'Italia"

It is equipped with all-original components, detailed below. The parts are all in perfect operating condition and excellent cosmetic condition. There are no dents, no buckling, and no other signs of crashes or internal rust on the frame. The drive side chainstay, front and rear Campagnolo dropouts and fork legs are raw chrome, while the rest of the fully-chromed frame has the cromovelto finish. There are some minor scratches to the cromovelato lacquer on the mid seat stays from storage, as well as the errant nick here and there (see detailed pics). These are not terrible. There is also an area of missing lacquer at the down tube-to-bottom bracket shell junction where a frame pump head sat. Some minor surface oxidation developed on the chrome there, which I cleaned up a bit but mainly left alone. It is purely cosmetic and photographs worse than it actually is. All in all the finish remains stunning.

Internet Background info on Wilier and this specific model:
Wilier was founded in 1906 by Pietro Dal Molin in Bassano del Grappa (Veneto, Italy) and is one of the best known names in Italian cycling. Following WWII Wilier formed a professional cycling team led by Giordano Cottur of Trieste. In 1945, the name of the brand was changed to Wilier Triestina, and the distinctive copper colored finish became a trademark of Wilier Triestina. The great Italian cyclist Fiorenzo Magni won the 1948 Giro d’Italia upon a Wilier Triestina , in 1952 the factory ended production and left cycling. However, in 1969 the Wilier Triestina marque was reconstituted and once again entered the world of pro- cycling. In 1985 and 1986 Claudio Corti won the Italian national championships, riding one of the most beautiful racing bicycles ever to grace the pelotons of professional cycling – Wilier Triestina Cromovelato ”Gioiello Ramato” (”Copper Jewel”).
Wilier is an acroynm for Viva l’Italia Libera e Redenta (Long live Italy, liberated and redeemed).
A copper finish is one of the most recognizable frame colors in cycling and is easily identified with Wilier as celeste is identified with Bianchi. The Gioiello Ramato (Copper Jewel) is a lugged steel frame featuring a chrome fork and chainstay in the classic style. The beautiful, copper finish was obtained through a long and complex process called”cromovelato” (”Ramato” means copper plated in Italian) in which copper laquer was applied over the chrome finish.
The Wilier Triestina Superleggera Ramata is regarded as one of the most beautiful bikes ever.
