Wilier Sestriere - Which Campag BB????

I'm building a Wilier Triestina Sestriere Pro Race (unsure of year?) for a friend - does anyone know which Campag bottom bracket I need to fit a Chorus square taper thread chainset?

Measure the bottom bracket shell width: 70mm = Italian; 68mm = English. Or were you asking about spindle length?

Any idea how old the chainset itself is? The most recent square-taper versions of Chorus generally need either a 102mm BB unit (double chainset) or an asymmetric 111mm one (triple chainset).

Notes above are correct for shell width and spindle length, but bear in mind that Campagnolo use ISO tapers on their BBs since 2000 or so, prior to that, their own - so if it's *very* old Chorus, to get correct chainline and to avoid the risk of damaging the tapers, you'll need a matching Campagnolo 111 mm "Symmetric" BB. Hard to find these days.

More recent units you are OK to use any 111 or in later cases, 102 mm symmetrical ISO BB, as the Campag ones are becoming harder to find now. Tifosi (ChickenCycleKit) have one made for them which is very good, reliable and makes a suitable replacement if you can't find the "real deal".

Shimano and many Shimano-clone BBs are not usually supplied in these lengths and with the difference in the taper (these will all be JIS taper), the chainline will be "off" in any case.
