Widest 700c rim from 1985 ish

What was a super wide rim from 1985 700c. I'm attempting to build a retro 29'er...because i am an addict and a pervert.

1986 Raleigh catalogs dont show much detail. I'd be looking at touring style rims, design to take on the extra weight. Weinmann did some pretty fat rims but then theres availability and all that...

Mavic Mod4 touring rims would be about the widest.

Of course Bontrager rerolled Mavic MA40 rims to 26" so you could probably use the standard 700c's

I have Mavic Mod3 and they are the same width as a 217 and matched up with m730/2 hubs are the epitome of bombproof

I have a NOS pair of Sunn Rims from around 1990 - they are about 20mm wide, grey anodised.

I have a FS thread for them on here somewhere but I can't find it :?
