I have some Answer Hyperlite that seem wide and have a large sweep.
Can try and measure.

Not sure if they make anything like them now though.

yeah, did see something like that on ebay, fairly straight middle section, then a very pronounced crank to get the sweep.

Another thumbs up for Salsa - only thing I use now: 620 (for retros) or 660mm (for moderns) with 11' or 17' sweep - flipping ace!

I also have a monstrous NukeProof 770mm thing I don't think I'll ever use again, but it's a 31.8mm clamp...

yeah i run 680mm bontrager big sweeps (12 degree) on my modern bike. i agree, wider bars are just so much better, for comfort but also handling and leverage. there was a reason those old bull moose bars of the eighties were so wide...it worked!

i have some very nice answer hyperlites on my zaskar, all period and everything, but they are 3 degree and 580mm. but its so bad in the handling department, it really puts me off wanting to ride it.

i tried some modern (31.8 ) low risers on it, 12 degrees and 680 or so, and the bike suddenly became fun again.

the salsa bars will be great, i just ordered a pair from the USA. i want to stay with period stem, and flat bar etc, so it still kind of "looks" right...but also handles right!
