hi george,
yes the frame comes with the plus four forks, steerer tube, and both front and rear shock units.
i think they are unbeatable value for money!
sorry to those who were bidding on the PRST-4 on ebay, but i just had to have it!
i find my PRST-1 a little short in reach, even with a long stem and seat right back, (i'm 5' 11" but have long arms!)
well the PRST-4 is here, in generally very nice condition, but unfortunately, even though the seller stated that the bearings were all fine, they are in fact all shot! it seems the bike has had zero maintenance, so it looks like i'm gonna have to fork out for a complete set of bearings, and finding the correct bearings for the H links is proving difficult! the PRST-1 has 8 bearings all of the same size, plus the front spherical bearing on the steering yolk. the PRST-4 on the other hand has 6 main frame bearings, the spherical steering bearing plus 4 bearings in each H beam unit!! me thinks this could be expensive, but as they say, no pain no gain!
and out of interest the large frame is one inch longer seat tube and once inch longer top tube, so not a big deal of a difference really!
will update once it's done and the PRST-1 is ready to be sold!
cheers, mike
well it's not all doom and gloom!
priced up the new bearings at an eye-watering £154, but the seller has agreed to go halves on the cost and refunded me £75!
makes it less of a bitter pill to swallow, and it will get the PRST-4 back to its former glory! happy days!
If the main pivot bearings are sealed types look for numbers on the plastic sealing ring like 6901 2RS, although the Marin range uses imperial sizes so the Whyte frames probably do too.

ok, the PRST-1 is now stripped and ready for sale!
as can be seen from the pics elsewhere on here the frame is a nice one, the previous owner spent much time and money keeping on top of maintenance and keeping it looking nice.
both front fork links and the rear triangle have been powdercoated grey, although they are gloss and not satin like the main frame.
All bearings, including the spherical steering bearing are new, as are all bushes and the shock bushes.
no headset, but does have a seat clamp and stem.
shocks are as per original spec, not as per my photos! rear air shock and front coil, both in perfect condition.
looking for £250 plus delivery, ono.
these are rare now, and especially in this condition mechanically!
