Formula 1 for years used a tired excuse of 'trickle down technology' to justify turning hydrocarbons into a blur of passing colour and vast amounts of noise. But then became so secretive and rule-breaking that everything moved further and further from day to day reality - with scant benefit for the utility 4x4s which I need.
What a contrast with DH. Everything prototyped in DH - geometry, means of construction, groupsets, brakes, suspension, frame characteristics in fact everything - then available for everyone the next season....which is really excellent. And they are SO open about the tech and what is happening....
