I've just been quoted £717 for a f&f from the states

Hence I am missing out on my dream bike again

Can anyone beat that?

where in the states, you could almost get a ticket and get someone to go and collect it for you ?

They need to use USPS. A frameset will easily fit in the size box they allow. I have shipped them to Germany for like $60. FEDEX and UPS are an entirely different story.

California

Re:

Paid $315 for USPS Global Express 3/4days + handling and import on top for rare F&Fs. Tried the other cheaper services a few times and the stress and hastle trying to track down the item that half the time 'dissapeared' wasn't worth it. The secret is very careful fully foam wrapping up the items and double lining the frame box with cardboard.

paid I think ~$800 for my xizang from US->OZ, we have weird sizes restrictions, plus insurance plus I wanted it super fast
