Who's riding what, where, this weekend?

I went to Cwmcarn today at South Wales, excellent weather and the trails was dry and clean, first time I visited there and was impressed how good it was and loved the fast downhill trails at the end, I was on a high and was ready to do another lap again but had a punture so I call it a day, def going there again.

I felt out of place with my 98 Cannondale while everyone was on their modern MTB's (maybe I need to buy one if I can afford it later? they are so expensive for a decent modern MTB's though)

Managed to snatch a lap of the Chase in. There was one of those demo days going on with the latest gear on offer. All the 'radical knarly dudes' were there with their full face helmets and long travel motor-bikes-with-no-engines. Now either the training is starting to work or the yoof of today don't put the effort in because no one came past me all day. Then right at the end of the ride at the cafe, an immaculate Klien, the one with the green/white/red fade. Told him about this place and he may be looking for some thumbies on here soon!

off round the pines on sunday on the zaskar, which will be its first outing since the build.

We passed you on your Zaskar (we were riding a rigid singlespeed 1990 Kona Fire Mountain and 1994 Kona Explosif) this afternoon and it looked mighty fine. We even stopped at the end of the trails so we could let you pass and have another look (not becuase we were knackered or anything!).

We were impressed. It looked fantastic. Nice build.

Had a cracking ride on a new route around Ticknall/Foremark Reservoir area in Derbyshire. Thought it'd be really muddy so took singlespeed - in the end it was lovely - hardly any mud at all.

Had a great blast this morning- 7am but sunny and the thermal base layers stayed in the drawer for the first time in ages. Spent an hour or so reaquainting myself with the local trails and even found a few new bits. Stopped for a fag by the river and watched a Kingfisher dart about before pressing on for home and a full English breakfast. Weather was great all day and I spent the day gardening and feeding the ducks that have taken residence in our absence. Rounded off the day by riding into town through the park on the RC100- it's maiden voyage. I was great riding it at last. Called in at the offy on the way back for a celebratary tipple.
Good day all round.

Thanks. They are ideally suited to the those twisty tree sections in the Pines and I haven't missed having suspension (although the roots in that section were a challenge).

It's a pity the 'trailbuilders' have designated that section an uphill climb rather than the excellent downhill section it always has been!
