Re:

Slaves arguing amongst themselves about who should shackle them, then splits developing amongst them over the brand of shackles that should be used; hope my kids generation are stronger.

They'll need to be seeing as Labour has them in debt before they're even born.

Bit like being smacked with a bill for ones own birthing service from a US / CHINA health care conglomerate

One needs to invest to promote economic growth

The Greens are idtiots, make a lettuce PM, a lentil Home Secretary, abolish electricity etc, so if there are no professional loonies I'll have to vote for the amateurs.

The irony. Idiots only has one t in it.

So today, May announces that she will limit the amount that energy companies can charge, if you vote for her. Here's some breaking news. You're already in Government, so you can do it now!

Funny how parties came come up with things that would be popular that a lot of us would like, in the run up to an election. Not so funny how it rarely transpires though.

Except for UKIP, whose leader thinks we need to get our own people picking fruit and veg.

Talking of veg, is Farage returning to leading them?

Here's some actual breaking news, she can't. Parliament is dissolved, there are no MPs and purdah precludes her from doing anything significant.

Which is just as well seeing as it's a diabolical interventionist policy which will cause more problems than it solves.

She could have, before it was dissolved.

Maybe you could explain how it would cause more problems than it solves. Unless you're a shareholder. In which case, it's a mere inconvenience of having smaller dividends.

You think they won't just recoup the shortfall another way? Price increase before it kicks in, new tariffs, hide it in smart meter costs or something? There will be a hundred ways and they'll be looking for them right now.

Someone will pay, and one way or another it will be the consumer. It was a ridiculous policy when Miliband mooted it and nothing's changed.

Corbyn and his salary cap, May and her energy cap. It's not the 70s. Government has no business setting prices.

Re:

They may well up their prices beforehand, but it will be regulated afterwards. Smart meters are not compulsory. I am not going to have one.

I say again, why have they not already done this BEFORE dissolvement?

So, in your world, companies can set whatever tariffs they want, because there is no regulation at present?
Would the same go for landlords setting whatever rent they want, squeezing people more and more in the process?

Is that the sort of world you want to live in?
