Who has heard of this GAZELLE bicycle ?

I recently bought this bicycle at an old market.

Has anybody heard of it?

It's a Royal Dutch Gazelle from I would guess the early 80s. The company is basically the Dutch equivalent to Raleigh.

Looks like a rare early 70s Champion Mondial to me. Nice score.

Gazelle and Batavus are the two largest manufacturers in Holland. There have been more, many more, but this are the two largest. Both companies had a small race frame shop. Handbuilt in Holland frames. I say small, but in case of Gazelle, the shop was actually not so small in the 80s. 10.000 frames annually. In Holland in the eighties half the peleton raced on Gazelle. Champion Mondial's are absolutely great frames.
