Who can tell me more about this Bianchi full XT mtb?

Can’t dig up anything on the internet. I’m particularly interested in the steel used, since it is a heavy beast. Columbus Cromor maybe?
I’m not interested in what-would-you-pay-for-it since I planned to strip it for the parts anyways.
Just wondering how this combo of good components and heavy steel came together...

As said: I googled it and used the (google based) search here too, but nothing came up for the specific bike shown on my photo.
I know new members can be of the do-everything-for-me-for-free, but I really searched beforehand and came here hoping someone with a focus of older Bianchis might chime in.
