I’ll be amazed if they go for £700 but what do I know.
GLWTS Tom. I remember buying a NOS pair like 15 years ago for something like £250 and thinking it was a mad price then but I’ve seen a few pairs go for 1000 dollars plus.

I’ve got one last NOS pair left but planning on using them for a build. I rode these tyres BITD and
Loved them because they were white. But man they wore out quick

1994 - I’m a bit of a mess after becoming a widower at 36. I have left a White Porc in the garden after some repairs. I eventually throw it in the bin after finding it green and manky six months’ later - it’s just a tyre, right?
1996 - I build a bike for someone and hell, whack the remaining white porc on the front - it’s just a tyre, right?

The bigger loss in retrospekt was that you did not save 10% of your income to make that money work for you. Eg simply stuff it into divident paying stocks. Much bigger loss by far, than any tyre. And everyone can do it, just follow the age old principle.

There simply is a certain "tipping point" where things just become plainly insane and stupid.

And sorry, believe me: I am FAR FAR away from that point with anything I do in my retro cosmos! But maybe you call my 15,00 Euros hand made Ringle repro hinges - or my 20,00 Euros titanium stem screws (for which I had to invest several hundred euros to even get them!) - or my repro FUNK fat forks for which I worked countless unpaid hours and paid each with an amount that you dont even wanna know "making money off other peoples stupidity" :-D Alright boomer - you got it! :-D :-D

Maybe GIL is "ripping people off" too, just because one of his full decal sets can climb up to 75,00 Euros if you import them to Europe mainland :-D

Okay, lets not even start with that topic. I fear, most people dont even have the slightest spark of a clue! So ...anyways.

Nice porcupine tires! :-D By the way, I truly grant Tom all the money in the world for his rare tires. Hes such a good guy. But to me, this is pure entertainment At least with the old pair of tires.
