White Industries front derailleur Spooler

I’d love to have this.... but without the LMDS twist changers and White Indy rear derailleur it would just be a shiny on the shelf I’m afraid.

Really interesting stuff and I admire the tenacity in trying to take the big boys on with something new. The FD as far as I can see is just a White Industries roller mechanism which replaces part of the Shimano mech.
Interesting video on it.

Yeah, I'm not the biggest supporter of "Made in America", but these were beautifully made, all be it with some Achilles heals… but I think they could have been developed out.
Apparently when set perfectly they were very good, very direct changing without relying on any return springs.

I mounted them on my moots, a complete white industries. Shifting is very soft, it changes effortlessly. The defect I can find is that the sprocket must be a 12/28 or max 13/30 otherwise the sledge beats on the largest sprocket

You could play a tune on that top tube :)

oh yesssss

last week I took the bike to an exhibition and showed how easy it is to change with LMDS, they were all amazed

the rear derailleur is spectacular,

it is not easy to assemble

Re:

That's an awesome bike. You're very brave to use the LMDS, much respect. Mine functions only as an ornament in a derailleur collection!

Be careful with the hanger bolt, they're really, really fragile

Thanks ferrus, I use it just to show friends how much they were ahead in the 90s!

I have two complete LMDS, one I reassembled on the moots and the other in a display case along with other vintage CNC pieces
